Global Accounting Network | Nexia International
As a US tax firm that specializes in international tax, we assist clients daily with tax issues that span multiple countries.
The challenge? Tax systems vary vastly from country to country. And for individuals and businesses crossing borders, the best tax solution in one country might yield unintended tax results in another country.
That’s why we work closely with tax advisors outside the US who are licensed and certified in the tax laws of their respective countries. Their in-depth knowledge of local laws in those countries helps ensure that our clients receive advice that makes sense from a global perspective, not just from a US or foreign perspective.
To provide seamless services to our international clients, we belong to Nexia International, a leading network of independent accountancy, tax and business advisors in over 120 countries.
Through Nexia International, we have over 250 member firms as partners around the world. Our Nexia partners bring extensive local tax knowledge that complements our US tax expertise. Through Nexia partners we can provide high-quality tax services no matter the country.
Through Nexia partners, we’ve helped clients around the world, including:
- Asia Pacific
- Central and South America
- Latin America
- Middle East
- North America
We have been an active member of Nexia and its precursors since 2002.
Frequently Asked Questions About Nexia
We lean on these partners to help answer questions about foreign tax returns, estate planning, gift planning, transferring wealth, filing requirements, structuring businesses, and more.
Very deep. We have personal relationships with many Nexia tax professionals, which we have formed and fostered over decades of work together. Our tax peers within Nexia are like family.
Every year, we meet multiple times at our international meetings and conferences, including our Annual International Tax Conference, Annual Partner Conference, Global Mobility Conference, regional meetings, and one-on-one meetings when visiting countries where Nexia partners live and work.
We also participate in short-term exchanges of staff among Nexia firms, to further strengthen relationships. These relationships help ensure very responsive service.
We will review your case and determine if there’s any need for a partner. However, if you have income or assets outside the United States, you will likely need a Nexia partner firm.
We will handle your US tax returns, but when it comes to another country’s tax system, we work with our Nexia partners to better serve you. Since tax systems vary vastly by country, you are best served by tax specialists within each country.
It depends. Sometimes you will work directly with a tax professional in another country, and other times we coordinate and communicate on your behalf with one of our Nexia partners. In either case, we strive for consistent and coordinated advice to avoid any tax conflicts.
