Maria “Masha” Zhandalinova

Tax Manager

Masha is a CPA and Tax Manager at The Wolf Group, who specializes in assisting entrepreneurs, high-net-worth individuals, and multinational businesses with their international tax planning and tax preparation needs.

She regularly advises clients on proper reporting for their international businesses (whether inbound to or outbound from the US), proper reporting of global income and assets, and tax savings opportunities.

In her day-to-day practice, Masha

  • Supports individuals with complex, cross-border situations, including U.S. citizens, green card holders, and other tax residents
  • Advises individuals and entities coming into US tax compliance via IRS amnesty programs (Offshore Voluntary Programs and Streamlined Programs)
  • Reviews US tax returns for high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses with international presence (both inbound and outbound)
  • Prepares various complex calculations and international reporting forms

Specific focus areas include reporting of Controlled Foreign Corporations (CFCs) and other foreign entities, entity basis calculations, Subpart F income and exceptions, Global Intangible Low-Taxed Income (GILTI), Earnings and Profits (E&P) calculations, §962 and other elections, Previously Taxed Earnings & Profits (PTEP) ordering and calculations, and foreign asset reporting.

Before joining The Wolf Group in 2022, Masha worked as a supervising senior accountant with an international tax group in a national public accounting firm. Prior to that, Masha worked in the accounting department for an international startup company.

Originally from Russia, Masha came to the United States in 2007 as a Fulbright scholar.

Outside of work, Masha enjoys spending time with family, preparing sophisticated desserts and fine chocolates, and reading.
